Generous Grant Funds Film and Soundtrack Collection

Thanks to a generous $20,000 grant given to the Hinsdale Public Library Foundation by the Hinsdale Theater Foundation, the Library has added approximately 600 DVDs and 100 movie soundtrack CDs to our collection. The DVDs encompass a broad range of award-winning and classic films, including everything from Adam’s Rib to Zorba the Greek, Animal House to The Bicycle Thief, Pulp Fiction to Star Wars and much, much more. We’ve selected the DVDs using numerous criteria, including Oscar, Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Awards best picture winners and nominees, international film festival award winners and selections from Chicago Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert’s popular “The Great Movies” column. Part of the grant money will be used to add titles to the collection as more classic films become available on DVD.

In addition, our movie soundtrack CDs offer selections by great Hollywood composers, classic musicals and contemporary soundtracks. The soundtracks are located in the 781.542 section of our CD collection on the main floor.
